Expressing emotions, a desire to start and succeed

Expressing emotions, a desire to start and succeed

My quiet place is writing what i feel. I’m not a “real writer,” and I don’t pretend to be one, but putting words down helps me breathe. It lets me release the things I don’t want to say out loud, the feelings I don’t want judged, the thoughts I don’t want answered with unsolicited advice. Writing is where I let myself be soft without being questioned.

I arrived at work today after two days off and a sick leave. The flu knocked me down a bit, but I still walked into the station with a smile — maybe forty percent real, sixty percent pretending. I love my job, I really do, but there’s a part of me that keeps whispering about something more. A part that wants to learn business, to build something of my own, to step into the world of entrepreneurship even if I’m still figuring out how.

During breaks I scroll through Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, watching small business owners and talented crafters create magic with their hands. Sometimes I wish I had their skills, their tools, their resources. But then I remind myself that everything starts small. I can learn. I can grow. I can take it little by little. I’m planning to study online courses about crafting, because I already know my niche — calming objects, sensory tools, things that bring peace. Not just for kids this time, because I’ve learned how many legalities come with that path. I want to create calming things for anyone who needs them.

I’ve already started something, even if it’s tiny. And that tiny start gives me a spark of enthusiasm I haven’t felt in a long time. It reminds me that beginnings don’t have to be loud to be powerful.

I hope I get my chance. I hope I find the time. I hope I grow into the version of myself who succeeds in the plans I keep tucked inside my chest. And until then, I’ll keep writing, keep learning, keep taking small steps toward the life I want.

Because even slow progress is still progress — and I’m learning to honour that.
